Take a ball and flatten it with fingers to a shallow bowl shape. Place approx. A tb. of filling in the centre. Bring together all the edges and join them. Shape n taper the Modak with fingers. Or shape the Modaks in Modak mould for easy n same size Modaks. Make all the Modaks, keep in steamer. Cover n steam for 10-15 min.on medium-low flame.
